Hi Maria & Carole. I'm a long time fan from another era - "Maria Loves Jazz" Sachs hotel on a Sunday afternoon a million years ago, a few times at Cork Jazz etc. Have been following your progress in the press etc., and intended many times to go to the George gig - but always busy on a Sunday now have the four kids, wife, 2.1 cars house in suburbia etc. etc. etc. so Sunday's on the tear as much as I would like is a non runner. Anyway, you came up in conversation today. I was talking to Mary Phelan radio producer and journalist about her idea for four part radio programme on music & musicians. I am now the proud father of four famous young clasical musicians (two violinists & two cellists). So if Mary gets the go ahead (funding) to do the series, we'll be featuring. Mary was telling me about the other three genres for the programme I couldn't believe when she mentioned you guys. Anyway, if it goes ahead it should be great fun, and maybe we'll get to meet in the recording studio! If not I'll def try to get to one of your up-coming gigs and say hello. Glad you guys still doin' it for the music. I hope everything good for you. Bye for now.

Dear Girls
I am a good friend of Carol Caffrey and was at the gig for Peter caffrey. I was knocked out by you both . Carol said she worked with you years ago when she and Annie were gigging together.
You were both the talk of the night. Fantastic talent.
Will you ever come over to shrewsbury "Theatre severn" is newly built and I am sure they would love your music. I am sure carol and I could get a crowd together.

I used to visit Peter until the end when he was in the Radbrooke nursing home. He was as irriverent as ever and he caused the night staff to blush with his language.
A very officious woman who was the new manager visited on Christmas day. She gave him a potted plant ( she had a trolley full) and an official welcome letter with her long winded mission statement goals and objectives. I was sitting with Peter at the time as she handed him the letter.
After she left peter with a "F... that threw the officious letter in the bin.

I roared with laughter as I felt that way too as working for the NHS we are presented daily with mission statements goals and objectives and I grow weary with it, and it was a joy to see them trashed . It was symbolic really, Peter who was soon to die saw through all the BS and the self importance.
I have known Peter since I was born and lived across the road from him. He would perform regular "shows" and a huge army blanket was the curtain. We had to pay a penny each. Well worth it. It was bliss.

He was great to us when we were kids and would "come out to play " with my sister when she was 10 and he was 23 . A bit of a star really like you two.
Thanks for some really great entertainment.
Come to Shrewsbury
Lots of love Barbara Beale

Zrazy played an amazing set at the Sugar Club last night, during a tribute evening to the late actor Peter Caffrey; just two numbers, but they brought the house down!

Hi to you both -

I've been listening to and loving your music for about the last five years and if I ever got to Dublin, would head straight for the George on a Sunday. I'm a novelist and am writing because I published a novel in May that I'd like to send you. Don't even know if you read novels. It's about 2 women in the 1950s who fall in love, and Charlie, the son of one of them. Not a million miles from my own life, except I have 2 daughters and I was born in the mid-60s. I'm not the other Fiona Shaw, as you will have realised, but she does like the novel. Anyway, not really wanting to do a sales pitch on my own book. Wanting to tell you that I love your music, wish you'd put out another album, and if you like to read novels, would like to send you mine.

Best wishes,

Fiona

Bernie

Hi Carole & Marie. its been a long time since I've seen Zrazy, last time I think was in some pub on Caple Street way back when! I was trying my best to stay seated on the small stool all night long....Yes, I'm ''that'' Bernie lol! And the JJ Smiths days as well of course. Anyway, I was sorry to miss your gig in the Civic Theatre last month (much to my regret) but I will be at the NCH on Monday next to hear you and this time I'll find a chair! lol So happy you're doing so well, bye for now :-)
